Big Horn Sheep

DSC_0152

Jackson and I went for our first hike of the year today up Battle Creek. It was a huge success. The biggest reason being that we saw big horn sheep. We rarely see any wildlife in the canyons near the city, and if we do they are usually deer. Jackson is very good at saying “big horn sheep” now.

I was so very proud of Jackson, he hiked the entire 1.2 miles of this hike. Going Jackson’s pace, with a few rock-throwing stops, etc., it took us 40 minutes to hike up .6  miles (about 500 feet elevation change), and 20 minutes for us to hike the .6 miles down. It felt so good to be hiking again.

Is it just me, or is this kid getting goofier as he gets older?

DSC_0148Here are some pictures as proof he made it all the way to the falls. We didn’t go see them because Jackson was scared of them. I think he remembered how loud it was from the last time we were there. By the way, we didn’t see any evidence of the flooding from run off that supposed to be happening soon.
