Dirt Problems

For all those who wonder what a geotechnical engineer does, I thought this picture is a good example. If the developer had used a geotechnical engineer when building this subdivision, these poor people wouldn’t be losing their house because the retaining wall failed.

Colin’s latest and largest projects he’s been working on are a new interstate interchange in Layton, commuter rail from Salt Lake to Provo, and Pioneer Crossing highway American Fork to Saratoga Springs. He brings home some very muddy boots everyday.

W-O-W!! I cannot even imagine that happening. I kind of wonder sometimes why people even build in areas like that because of the danger that is lurking.
