The scariest road we’ve ever driven on.

Friday evening, we explored a new canyon called Butterfield Canyon. It is immediately south of Kennecott/Bingham/Rio Tinto copper mine. Oh, man. First time and last time. We’ve been on some scary roads and even though this road was paved the entire time, it take’s the cake. The road is very narrow with a sheer drop off  for a lot of it. It has many very tight, blind turns and the road is lined with rocks from rock falls. The kids, who are often oblivious, were even nervous and asking to turn back. We made it to the top and found a beautiful trail. We decided against going back the way we came and made our adventure extra long by going down to Tooele and back home on safe roads. Freaky road aside, it was a beautiful adventure.
