Jackson is a 7-year-old now. It’s amazing to watch him become a real person. He is a thinker—still cautious of risks. He is an engineer—beyond all of his original lego creations, he has been drawing step-by-step instructions of how to build a robot. He is extremely smart—he is reading above level, he remembers everything (like what liquefaction is) and math comes so easy for him. He is has become so social—in the past year he has made so many friends in the neighborhood and sometimes he spends more time out with friends than he does at home. He is silly—he likes to try to make up jokes or talk in a different voice, trying to get a laugh.
Jackson has been talking about having a party with friends for a long time so we finally did it. He had a Star Wars Themed party at Neptune Park. The foam light sabers were a big hit. I couldn’t find any pool noodles so Colin cut pipe insulators and spray painted them and then we put duct and electrical tape on the end for the handle. The party was more than a little chaotic. Boys!
When you turn 7, you start getting lots of books for your birthday. His big present was Minecraft.
