The day after Thanksgiving, we went for our traditional Christmas tree hunt. Unfortunately we sold our 4 wheel drive vehicle. We decided to go down to Sanpete county for a change and for the first time in hopes of finding a better road so we really were going in uncharted territory. We ended up going up Ephraim canyon which was a nice big well groomed road that would be just fine for a minivan in the summer, but in the winter it was compacted snow/ice and way too steep. On one corner our van started sliding sideways into the little ditch where the water runs off the road. Colin got out to push and I got behind the wheel. No matter what I did, the van kept sliding back towards the ditch. Several people stopped to help and were able to push it back out into the road. Rosie was barking at the strangers around the car and Natalie was screaming too so it was more than a stressful moment. We found a spot to park and found a tree pretty quick. I am rethinking this family tradition until we can get a truck or another 4 wheel drive vehicle. Besides that stress, it was a beautiful day.
