Memorial day hike

Instead of driving 3 hours to get to red rock country, we drove 50 minutes to get to the Red Ledges area of Diamond Fork Canyon. The cliffs are surrounded by lush green because it gets plenty of rain but the desert plants are doing the best because they are growing in sand. There were lots of beautiful desert wildflowers growing and tons of cactus. There isn’t a clear set trail to get to the top so the kids and Rosie led us up a precarious path. We didn’t want to come back down the same way so we took some time to walk around to find a safe way down and ended up having to hop a barbed wire fence and walk along the highway to get back to the car. It was a true adventure. We saw two rabbits and lots of lizards.
