           Hi is for when you see someone you know, hello is for when you have a cell phone. Jesus refers to any of the pictures on the wall at church, but was also used when she saw Jackson in church clothes. Colin and I are both da-tee, as well as any other adults. Jackson and other kids are “Jackson”. I’m amazed she can say his name so clearly, but shouldn’t be surprised because that’s her favorite person. Says uh-oh really well to tell me she needs help, for example when she drops something. The quicker she is saying uh-oh over and over, the more dire the situation is. She already gestures a lot and it easy to tell what she wants through her pointing at things.

Food: Almost done nursing, slowly accepting bovine lactase. Haven’t found anything she won’t eat. Favorites are yogurt, cheese, watermelon, cantaloupe, strawberries, mashed potatoes, popsicles, and ice cream. And peanut butter. Couldn’t keep it from her and she loves it just like the rest of the Cummins crew.

Physical skills: Still not walking. She’s been crawling for 6, close to 7 months, but still not walking. I’ve seen her take 2-3 steps without coersion “walk to me annie!”, but she’s not that interested. She loves climbing on things and sometimes surprises mommy with how high she can get. Goes up and down stairs very well. She’s pretty tough and can hold her own when wrestling with Jackson.

Quirks: Dirt eating. When you hand her a piece of food (especially in the car) she stares at you and then at the food for as long as 6 seconds before taking it from you. Has chosen her security blanket—one of my silk slips. At least it’s easily washable and replaceable, but perhaps not easy to bring in public. It’s funny her pink silk blanket didn’t make the cut. Especially likes girls and women. Will frequently reach out to strangers (women) and want to be held by them.
